Cooking for 3
OPÂ helps me cook. And since she started helping, our meals have tasted even better (if that’s possible). She’s going to be a chef when she grows up. A triathloning chef.

March 29, 2009Tai Kwon DoI have the cutest godson ever (yes, even cuter than yours), and whenever I can I try to either spoil him or root him on in whatever he does. I’ve been told that godmommies lead the child on the path to god, but I don’t. I just spoil him rotten whenever I can. Last November or something he had a Tai Kwon Do tournament in our neighborhood so we thought we go and support him. He didn’t place, but it was amusing to watch. I think he needs to be a bit more brutish and a little less nervous, but he’s like 7 so what can you do? Click the photo to see more. February 28, 2009Halloween 2008 (just a little late)I have Halloween photos from the party we held in 2008. We had a lot of fun. Sadly the Husband woke up a little sick and you can see it in his picture, but he persevered! Mainly because I would have killed him. This year we decided to take it a little easy. Instead of going insane making insane amounts food and costumes from scratch, I decided to be creative. We held our first annual Halloween Food Contest. I still made way to much food and have vowed not to do so again next year. Then there’s the no-sew costumes. We went as the ghosts of Halloween Past, Present, and Future. The Husband was the Ghost of Halloween Past wearing different parts of past costumes–King Arthur’s crown, Mal’s jacket and shirt, Snidely Whiplash’s vest, and the Hakama I made the first year. I am the ghost of Halloween Future decked out in all the fabrics and patterns of costumes yet to come. The Ghost of Halloween present was a box complete with Halloween wrapping paper and a bow, because I couldn’t resist the pun. I spent a day wandering the town where I work and taking photos with the lens to get a handle on how it works. Here is the top of a flag pole. It’s regular size and I’m standing on the ground. The college where I work is building a new, state-of-the-art music hall. This is the construction at the lowest setting (which I can’t remember but think may be at 300) Here it is at the highest zoom (700). That’s the same guy in the previous photo. Here is grass. From a fully standing position. Did I mention I love this lens? Finally, just a lucky shot I got in passing and probably one of my favorites of all time. I brough the lens with me to San Francisco and will post those in the next few weeks. I had a 4GB card and went crazy with photos. I’m still going through the first day of photos which I think is around 1GB all on its own. |
